We all love the Chinese New Year festivities -- the red packets (of course!), home baked cookies, (nosy) relatives and just non-stop mouth watering food but with that also comes the blazing hot weather!
How many of you recall our post from last year on how to avoid overeating? We hope you found it helpful and we understand that it is difficult to resist the excessive indulging but in case you want to avoid fatigue and bloating, here are some beverage recipes to keep you energised during those reunion meals, gambling sessions and house visits.
Cha Cha the Bloat Away!
What You Need:
- 1 Bottle of Raspberry Kombucha
- Handful of blueberries
- Lemon peel
Snow Pear Ginger
What You Need:
- 2 Asian Pears - peeled
- 1.5 tablespoons rock sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried Goji berries
- 6 dried Chinese dates
- 1.5 cups of water
- 1/2 ginger - peeled and sliced
Lemongrass Lemon Tea
What You Need:
- 3 bags of brewed tea of your preference. I would go with Darjeeling or English Breakfast
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups roughly chopped lemongrass stalks
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 lemon - squeezed
- Ice cubes
Detox to Retox
What You Need:
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 cup fresh basil - blended
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
